The Via Afrika Home Language Core Reader has been developed in line with the CAPS requirements for the school year. The Core Reader contains folklore, poetry, short stories and drama texts as well as activities on every text. The Core Reader also includes an introductory text on every genre covered in the book. The Teacher’s Guide provides generic guidance on how to teach the genre as well as specific information on how to teach each text. Answers to the activities in the Core Reader are provided in the Teacher’s Guide.

The Core Reader must be used in conjunction with the Learner’s Book and Teacher’s Guide for the grade.
